What to Wear on Your Barbering Course

Starting a barbering course? Here's what to wear so you're comfortable, safe and looking professional from day one.
1. Comfortable, closed shoes
You'll be on your feet most of the day, and cut hair gets everywhere on the floor. Supportive, closed-toe shoes make a long training day much easier.
2. Skip wool and fleece
Cut hair clings to knitted and fluffy fabrics and works its way through to your skin. Smooth, tightly woven fabrics are far easier to brush clean.
3. Wear hair-resistant workwear
The easiest fix is clothing made for the job. Our sister brand Proper ProWear makes hair-resistant workwear for barbers, designed by a working barber. The Barber Armour suit goes over your own clothes, so you leave class hair-free.
4. Tie hair back and keep jewellery minimal
Long hair tied back and minimal rings or bracelets keep you safe around clippers and scissors, and look more professional on the shop floor.
